Carlo Ancelotti will sweep into Stamford Bridge tomorrow and launch a summer of frenzied transfer activity.
The new Chelsea manager, who signed a three-year deal worth £18million plus bonuses in Milan late on Sunday night, has already identified a number of players he wants billionaire owner Roman Abramovich to bring to west London.
But the 49-year-old Italian will also urge his employers to go for Arsenal forward Emmanuel Adebayor, Milan and Italy playmaker Andrea Pirlo, Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso and possibly even Glen Johnson, who has grown into an England right-back since leaving Chelsea for Portsmouth in August 2007 for £4m.Chelsea captain John Terry, meanwhile, has publicly urged the club to go for Valencia’s David Villa.
